La StoriaSmeg, founded in 1948 by Vittorio Bertazzoni in Guastalla, is the Italian company that has converted simple home appliances into authoritative interpreters of 'Made in Italy' design.
Bertazzoni's productive and entrepreneurial history dates back to the nineteenth century. Beginning as blacksmiths, the Bertazzonis expanded into other fields, becoming cooker producers and, later, manufacturers of professional devices such as washer-disinfectors and glassware washers.
