Warranties are generally quite a lot different when you buy a piece of refrigeration in a commercial capacity rather than as a consumer, confused? Let us explain.
Typically when you buy commercial refrigeration you have the option to buy with either a Parts only warranty or a Full Parts & Labour warranty. The former is cheaper obviously but what are the implications? Well, in the event that your bar fridge breaks down, you will need to pay for a refrigeration engineer to visit your premises, diagnose the fault and then you need to order a replacement spare part which is covered under your parts only warranty. This clearly takes time to arrange, plus you'll need another visit from the engineer to actually replace the faulty part to getting the fridge up and running again.
The downtime alone comes at a cost let alone the bill for a refrigeration engineer to visit your establishment at least twice which in itself can easily run into hundreds of pounds.
As a rough guide, the cost for a full warranty on a cheap bar fridge per year is approximately £30. This is not a lot of extra money to pay for peace of mind.
In short, always buy cheap bar fridges with a Full warranty where possible, it will pay in the long run!
Top Tip 3 - Visibility - Will your bar fridge be on display?
This may seem obvious but unless your bar fridge is going to be on display then don't buy a glass door bottle cooler!
If your bottle fridge is purely for storage purposes and won't be on display to the general public then any old cheap fridge will do. Solid door refrigeration is generally cheaper to buy and to run in comparison to glass door display refrigeration because it doesn't have glass doors and therefore is more insulated. Simple!
