The DCT140-50A Self Contained Pebble Ice Maker is suitable for commercial use in establishments such as cocktail bars and fast food restaurants. This is because this unit produces a type of ice called pebble ice which are small ice cubes, like nuggets, that allow for better presentation and better measurment of ice to liquid.
The pebble ice is produced using the latest technology inside the machine, allowing a cylindrical evaporation of water that creates small trapezoidal ice cubes which are compact and long lasting. This ice cubes also give the added benefit of quick cooling and along with a longer melting time. Because these are also smaller ice cubes than normal, the rate at which they are produced is quicker and due to the size more of them are produced at a single time.
The unit has a grade catering stainless steel that is perfect due to the fact that no rust will be on the unit after long periods of usage. The added benefit of this material is that it is very hygienic and easy to clean with ease. The storage bin inside that stores all the ice is produced using a non-toxic antibacterial that protects the ice inside. It also gives a layer of insulation which allows the inside to remain at sub zero temperatures. All of these materials comply with the Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
