The DCP45-20A Self Contained Hollow Ice Maker is a suitable unit for commercial use due to the machine producing hollow ice. Hollow ice is different to normal ice cubes as these are hollow crystalline ice cubes that have a longer life and also cool down at a quicker rate. Hollow ice is normally suitable for hard water areas because of the way the machine produces them. This is why this unit is suitable for establishments such as bars and restaurants.
The way hollow ice is produced within the machine is by a process known as the paddle system. The paddle system does not require additional pumps to produce ice and therefore makes it one of the quietest ice makers available on the market. This system can still produce ice even when the water supply has a high mineral count.
The unit has a grade catering stainless steel that is perfect due to the fact that no rust will be on the unit after long periods of usage. The added benefit of this material is that it is very hygienic and easy to clean with ease. The storage bin inside that stores all the ice is produced using a non-toxic antibacterial that protects the ice inside. It also gives a layer of insulation which allows the inside to remain at sub zero temperatures.
